Of the several various and random gifts I bought her, she likes this one the best. It has a fairly encompassing list of items, but not everything. For the things not on the list you can record your own entry but it is a little tedious. The print out is great for taking to the store since #1 it is legible and #2 it automatically prints everything in categories so the list is organized by sections of the store. I do not buy anything that is not on the list so it saves me money! If you program it with the names of the things you want to buy you will have no problem with this unit. If you do not progam it you will have some problems with it understanding what you say. You will need to buy some rechargeable batteries. ...more

First is that there is a slight background noise on the phones (sort of like the ocean is a mile away.) Second, the voice caller ID pronounces names so strangely that it is difficult to understand who is calling. I am getting used to the odd pronunciations but had to change a few names in the memory so that they are spelled phonetically. It pronounced "Grace" as "grah-say!" ...more

I first hooked up the main base on the ground level of the home. Setting up the phone was very easy. The features that really stood out were a phone book with customizable ringers for different callers. I typed in my name and cell phone number to test out the caller ID voice.
